CME Group Chairman Emeritus Melamed to Attend China Financial Futures Exchange CSI 300 Index Futures Launch

SHANGHAI, April 15, 2010 – Leo Melamed, chairman emeritus, CME Group, has been honored with an invitation to represent the exchange at the historic ceremonies for the launch of the CSI 300 Index futures by the China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX). 


The ceremonies will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 in Pudong, Shanghai, beginning at 8:40 a.m. with an opening introduction by Dr. Zhu Yuchen, CEO of CFFEX and will include remarks by invited government and private industry officials. 


Melamed, who is well known in China, has been leading CME Group in its educational efforts in China pertaining to futures markets, and in promoting close cooperation between CME Group and CFFEX and the other stock and futures exchanges of China. He will be accompanied to the opening ceremony by Phupinder Gill, CME Group president, and CF Wong, CME Group Managing Director, Asia.


Following the event, Melamed will be the featured speaker at the Futures Industry Association conference in Beijing on April 17, 2010, and he will address the Peking University on April 18, 2010.
