CME Group Chairman Emeritus Melamed to Present at Osaka Securities Exchange’s 20th Anniversary of Nikkei 225 Futures Celebration, Sept. 2

CHICAGO, Sept. 2, 2008 – CME Group (NYSE, NASDAQ: CME) announced today that Chairman Emeritus Leo Melamed will deliver the keynote address to mark the 20th anniversary of the Nikkei 225® futures contract at the Osaka Securities Exchange (OSE).

Developed in 1950, the Nikkei Stock Average is the leading index of the Japanese stock market and is composed by the top 225 blue-chip listed companies on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In 1985, CME initiated a licensing agreement to trade the Nikkei 225 futures contract during U.S. business hours in open outcry. Today the Nikkei 225 futures contract is traded in both dollar and yen denominations on the CME Globex® electronic trading platform.

While in Osaka, Melamed will also represent the City of Chicago in a Chicago Sister Cities program event with the City of Osaka. The Chicago Sister Cities International Program includes 27 international cities and is under the auspices of the City of Chicago Mayor’s Office of International Relations.
