Update7 Day iLink CGW Sessions - May 10
† Denotes update to the article
Effective †Sunday, May 10 (trade date Monday, May 11), new 7 day (7D) sessions will be required for all iLink and Drop Copy Convenience Gateway (CGW) users to participate in CME Globex 24/7 weekend trading. These 7D CGW sessions can be used to trade all 5 day and 7 day products moving forward.
iLink CGW users must create new 7D CGW sessions, which are now available in the Request Center (ESS), but will not be available for trading until Sunday, May 3.
Drop Copy CGW users must update their configuration to include a new dedicated target session, which will be auto-created by the Drop Copy service to support 7D CGW sessions.
Existing 5 day (5D) CGW sessions may be used to trade 7 day products from Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Central Time (CT) through Friday at 4:00 p.m. CT, but will be restricted from extended weekend trading hours.
To facilitate the transition, CME Group will waive Port Activation Charges (PAC) for all 7D sessions through July 2026. Monthly Inactivity Charges (MIC) remain in effect; a minimum of 100 traded contracts per month is required to avoid the $100 service charge.
Please Note: 7D sessions will not be available for weekend testing (mock trading sessions). Firms interested in weekend testing should retain a small number of 5D CGW sessions for this purpose. CME Group will waive the MIC for up to five 5D CGW sessions, maintained specifically for testing, per CME Globex Firm ID (GFID).
iLink and Drop Copy Market Segment Gateway (MSGW) sessions are unaffected and can access all 24/7 products, provided the associated GFID is enabled by the responsible FCM.
