Critical Updates
NewCME and CBOT Commodity Futures Performance Enhancements - This Week
Starting this Sunday, March 29 (trade date Monday, March 30), CME Globex will implement software upgrades for the CME and CBOT commodity futures markets (i.e. Market Segment ID 70).
These enhancements will have no functional or messaging impact to client gateways. In internal testing, these enhancements improved performance by up to 10% on the specified markets.
iLink SBE Schema Version 8 Decommission - April 24
On Sunday, February 22, CME Group completed the launch of iLink SBE Schema version 9 on all futures and options on futures market segments. CME Globex is now only sending version 9 messages for all futures and options on futures markets.
Client systems can send iLink messages using version 8 or 9 until the end of day Friday, April 24, after which only version 9 messages will be accepted.
MDP 3.0 TCP Recovery IP Update for Channels 326, 327 and 329 - April 26
Effective Sunday, April 26, CME Group will update the MDP 3.0 TCP Market Data Recovery IP and port for MDP 3.0 channels 326, 327 and 329.

Starting at 4:00 p.m. Central Time on Friday, May 29, CME Group will expand Cryptocurrency futures and options to 24/7 trading.
Cryptocurrency futures and options will trade continuously on CME Globex with at least a two-hour weekly maintenance period over the weekend. All holiday or weekend trading from Friday evening through Sunday evening will have a trade date of the following business day, with clearing, settlement and regulatory reporting processed the following business day as well.

NewEvent-Based Contracts Expansion to 24/7 Trading - May 29
Starting at 4 p.m. Central Time on Friday, May 29, CME Group will expand event contracts to 24/7 trading, including event contracts on Bitcoin futures. The technology and timeline align with the upcoming Cryptocurrency futures and options migration to 24/7 trading.
Event contracts on Bitcoin futures will trade continuously on CME Globex with at least a two-hour weekly maintenance period over the weekend. All holiday or weekend trading from Friday evening through Sunday evening will have a trade date of the following business day, with clearing, settlement and regulatory reporting processed the following business day as well.

Globex Trade Date Behavior Change - June 19
Effective Friday, June 19, CME Group is implementing the following change to align CME Globex and CME Clearing trade dates when the Globex trade date falls on a Friday U.S. holiday.
All CME Globex futures and options trades executed on a Friday U.S. holiday will now reflect a Globex trade date to align with the next valid Clearing House trade date.

iLink Mass Quote Protection Session Linking - Q2 2026
In Q2 2026, CME Group will introduce the new Mass Quote Protection (MQP) Session Linking functionality for all CME Globex options on futures.
This enhancement provides comprehensive risk mitigation by allowing firms to link multiple iLink sessions under the same CME Globex Firm ID (GFID). When an MQP event is triggered, protection actions are automatically extended across all associated sessions within the linked group.

The new MQP Session Linking will be available in New Release for customer testing on Thursday, April 2.
Certification is not required to use the new MQP Session Linking functionality.
New Market Data Multicast Group - MDP 3.0 Channel ID 350 - Q2 2026
In Q2 2026, CME Group will launch a new market data multicast group to be used for a new CME Group product suite in the interest rate options asset class.
The new market data multicast group will use MDP 3.0 Channel ID 350. Additional details will be announced in future CME Globex notices.

New Market Data Channel 335 for Equity Index and Alternative Product Launch - H1 2026
To support the expansion of the Equity Index and Alternative Products asset class, CME Group will launch a new market data multicast group in the first half of 2026.
This new multicast group will utilize Channel ID 335.
While the product launch is scheduled for 2026, we are providing these network specifications now to allow clients ample time to proactively manage firewall policies and network configurations.
Single Stock Futures - 2026
In 2026, pending completion of all regulatory review periods, Single Stock Futures (SSF) for a select group of publicly listed companies will be listed for trading on CME Globex, and CME Direct trading application, and submission for clearing via CME ClearPort.
With this launch a new Market Segment Gateway and Drop Copy Gateway Service will be introduced.

CME Globex on Google Cloud
Later this year, client testing will begin in the new CME Globex on Google Cloud Sandbox environment, located in the private Ultra Low Latency zones of the Google Cloud Dallas Region.
Detailed information is available in the Client Systems Wiki to ensure a smooth transition and successful onboarding. This content includes the detailed scope for client testing, a production readiness checklist, and the onboarding process.

Position Reporting Under CFTC Part 17
On April 30, 2024, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission ("CFTC") approved final rules to amend its Large Trading Reporting Regulations for Futures and Options. The amendments were made to modernize CFTC's Large Trader Reporting process and align it with other reporting structures outlined in CFTC regulations.
Since October 2024, CME Group has offered methods to retrieve its instrument listing containing the Unique Instrument Code (UIC) and other instrument data elements in compliance with the amended rule.
Starting March 10, 2025, CME Group began accepting test files in the new Position Message FIXML format via SFTP. For details regarding submitting the new FIXML Position Message, file management, field validations, and example scenarios, please refer to the information in the CME Group Client Systems Wiki.
The Market Regulation Department will be publishing further guidance regarding Large Trader Reporting in subsequent Special Executive Reports as solutions become available.
CFTC's final rules became effective upon publication in the Federal Register on June 3, 2024. Reporting Firms must comply with the CFTC's final rules regarding Large Trader Reporting Requirements two years after publication in the Federal Register.

CME STP FIX and FIXML - Truncation of Trailing Zeros in Specific Quantity Fields - April 19
Effective Sunday, April 19 (trade date Monday, April 20), the trailing zeros will be truncated in the Unit of Measure Quantity and Trading Quantity fields in CME STP FIX and FIXML Trade Capture Reports. This truncation does not change the precision of these fields.

CME STP FIXML - Service Availability and Regional Maintenance Update - This Week
Effective this Sunday, March 29 (trade date Monday, March 30), CME Group will make the CME STP FIXML service available on a 24/7 basis and will introduce regional maintenance during weekends.
Clients should note that the x-cme-token, which is used by client systems for ongoing subscriptions and for multi-batch queries, will not be valid across regions. After regional maintenance, client systems will receive a TradeCaptureReportRequestAck with the attribute @txt="x-cme-token is no longer valid. Please initiate a new subscription" and must reestablish their subscription to obtain a valid token.
This change is currently available in New Release (maintenance weekly on Wednesdays). Customers are highly encouraged to test their recovery processes in New Release and complete the mandatory supplemental certification.
CME STP FIXML service in New Release is not available on weekends.

CME STP FIX on Google Cloud - Service Availability and Regional Maintenance - This Week
Effective this Sunday, March 29 (trade date Monday, March 30), CME Group will make the CME STP FIX service on Google Cloud available on a 24/7 basis and will introduce regional maintenance during weekends.
During the regional maintenance, client systems using the Managed Connectivity options will be disconnected and are required to reestablish their connections and resubscribe to continue the receipt of post-trade messages. Client systems using Regional Connectivity options should switch regions on their end upon disconnection.

This change is currently available in New Release (maintenance weekly on Wednesdays). Customers are highly encouraged to test their recovery processes in New Release and complete the mandatory supplemental certification.

CME Globex Firm ID Excessive Messaging Threshold Modifications Per Second Addition - March 31
Effective Tuesday, March 31 (trade date Wednesday, April 1), in response to customer behavior specific to excessive order modification within product group SS (SOFR futures), the CME Globex Messaging Efficiency Program for CME Globex Firm IDs Excessive Messaging Threshold (EMT) will be revised to include a Modifications Per Second (MPS) parameter of more than 2,000.
EMT MPS will track customer order modifications per second, by Globex Firm ID (GFID), within product group SS (SOFR futures). Additionally, CME Group also reserves the right at its discretion to aggregate CME Globex firms for purposes of determining whether product group SS-SOFR futures EMT GFID benchmark as part of the EMT MPS has been exceeded in circumstances where a single entity is sending in messages via more than one execution firm number. In such cases, CME Group will advise the participant accordingly.
Each breach of this new MPS parameter (more than 2,000) will be eligible for a potential $5,000 surcharge.

NewMarket Integrity Control Changes for NYMEX and COMEX Energy and Metal Futures - April 5
Effective Sunday, April 5 (trade date Monday, April 6), to ensure fair and efficient markets, Velocity Logic will be disabled during both the daily and final settlement windows for NYMEX and COMEX Energy and Metal futures.
The halt time if Dynamic Circuit Breakers are triggered during the settlement window will remain at five seconds.
NYMEX and COMEX Energy and Metal futures are listed on Market Segments 78 and 80 and distributed on MDP channels 360, 380, 382, 384 and 386.
NewVelocity Logic Reserved State Update - April 5
Effective Sunday, April 5 (trade date Monday, April 6), the Reserved State duration triggered by a Velocity Logic event will be reduced from 10 seconds to five seconds during Extended Trading Hours (ETH). This change applies to all products with Velocity Logic enabled.
CME STP FIX on Google Cloud - Production Internet Connectivity Migration Deadline - April 26
As part of a phased migration of CME Straight Through Processing APIs to Google Cloud, Production internet connectivity options for CME STP FIX API are now available.
By Sunday, April 26, all clients must complete migration and connect to CME STP FIX API Production using only the Google Cloud hostnames.
CME STP FIX on Google Cloud is available in parallel to the current on-prem instance. When connecting in parallel to Google Cloud and on-prem instances, clients should ensure trades are not double-booked.
A mandatory supplemental certification for message recovery is now available for CME STP FIX on Google Cloud.

CME Globex Connectivity Upgrades and Changes for Listed Derivative Markets - June 27
In response to client feedback and to provide firms with additional time to prepare, CME Group extended the deadline for the previously announced network equipment upgrades.
Starting Saturday, June 27, CME Group plans to replace End-of-Life network equipment that supports listed derivatives connectivity at CME Globex Hubs. Customers will be notified in advance if they are impacted by an equipment upgrade.
CME Globex market data for listed derivatives now regularly exceeds 1Gbps, increasing the risk of packet loss, performance concerns, and quality of service degradations on 1Gbps connections.
Impact on 1Gbps Listed Derivatives Connections
- Multicast Market Data: Effective June 27, 1Gbps services will no longer support MDP 3.0 multicast market data.
- Existing 1Gbps Customers with Market Data: Customers with 1Gbps service currently listening to multicast market data are encouraged to upgrade connections to 10Gbps as soon as possible.
- Existing 1Gbps Customers without Market Data: Unicast services such as iLink, Drop Copy, STP, MQ and others will continue to be supported on 1Gbps connections. Customers with 1Gbps connectivity who are not receiving Market Data will have their service migrated to the new equipment.
- New 1Gbps Connections: New connections for 1Gbps service do not support access to listed derivatives multicast market data.
Copper Handoffs
- When the CME Globex Connectivity upgrades are rolled out in 2026, CME Group will no longer support copper handoffs.
