      CME Globex Performance Enhancements - This Week

      The CME Globex Performance Enhancements will continue Sunday, June 27. CME Group is implementing infrastructure and hardware upgrades to futures and options markets on the CME Globex platform. In internal testing, these enhancements improved performance on CME Globex more than 20% for both iLink 2 and iLink 3 order entry and MDP 3.0.

      CME FX Link Enhancements: New Zealand Dollar/US Dollar Spot FX Impact - This Week

      Effective this Sunday, June 27 (trade date Monday, June 28), to align spreads trading between CME FX futures and the OTC FX market for the New Zealand Dollar (NZD) Futures, CME Group will update the following features:

      • Change to tag 1151-Security Group
      • Differentiated tag 75-TradeDate and tag 64-SettleDate(Value date) roll schedules between the New Zealand Dollar futures and its untradeable OTC Spot FX leg instrument published in the Security Definition (35=d) message.
        • For example, for Sunday July 4, 2021 through Monday July 5, 2021, 14:00, NZD future and NZD Link trade date will be Tuesday, July 6 and NZD spot leg trade date will be Monday, July 5. Currently, for Sunday, July 4 through Monday, July 5 14:00, NZD future, NZD Link and NZD spot leg would share the same trade date of Tuesday, July 6.

      Elimination of CME Equity Futures and Options Market Pause - This Week

      Effective this Sunday, June 27 (trade date Monday, June 28), CME Group will eliminate the 15 minute market pause from 3:15-3:30 with Security Status (tag 35-Msg-Type=f) message where tag 326-SecurityTradingStatus=21 (Pre-Open) for these CME Equity Index futures and options.

      With this change, the affected equity futures and options products will trade from Sunday-Friday, 5pm-4pm CT, daily, with a 4pm-5pm CT maintenance period.

      Please note: S&P 500 futures and options (250 multiplier) as well as all BTIC and TACO products will not be impacted.

      NewNew - Messaging Efficiency Program Q3 2021 Benchmarks  - Now Available

      The Q3 2021 CME Globex Messaging Efficiency Program Product Group Benchmarks are now available. No changes were made to Q3 2021 existing Product Group Benchmarks vs. Q2 2021 Product Group Benchmarks.

      The CME Globex Messaging Efficiency Program creates fair business guidelines by which customers are billed a surcharge for overly high message rates.

      CME Globex firms who exceed the benchmark ratios in applicable product groups and are signed-up accordingly, receive email notifications of any potential surcharges. CME Globex firms who have access to the Firm Administrator Dashboard have the ability to view their messaging statistics on a T+1 basis.

      The Firm Administrator Dashboard (FADB) will be unavailable this Saturday, June 26, 2021 until 5:00 PM CT due to scheduled maintenance.

      Customers are asked to refrain from making any change requests into the FADB during this time frame as they will not be saved to production.

      CME SPAN 2 Margin Methodology - Q4 2021

      CME Group is targeting the initial launch of SPAN 2 Margin Methodology in Q4 2021, starting with a subset of energy products. Any firm that currently uses the CME SPAN methodology and trades impacted products will need to implement one of the following services for computing CME SPAN 2 margin requirements:

      • CME Core – a CME Group hosted web application for Margin Calculation “CME CORE”
      • Margin API – a CME Group hosted margin calculation API
      • Deployable Margin Software – a CME Group java margin calculation library

      Please Note: A limited number of existing pre-trade execution margin calculation processes may continue to be supported.
