Highlights
- The ongoing trade discussions and a recent ruling from the U.S. Court of International Trade, which briefly paused all reciprocal tariffs before they were reinstated by a federal appeals court the following day, have countered bullish factors such as heightened geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties. As a result, the gold price remained largely unchanged month-over-month at $3,315.40/oz.
- Without the support of its yellow counterpart, silver prices remained range-bound, closing the month at $33.030/oz. The Gold-Silver Ratio continues to hover around the 100:1 level, while managed money net positions are gradually increasing.
- Copper prices saw a 1.5% month-over-month gain, settling at $4.6775/lb, driven by supply disruptions such as the suspension of operations at the Kamoa-Kakula copper mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, the rising strength of the dollar limited further gains.
- With gold prices holding steady at elevated levels, Micro Gold (MGC) futures saw its highest monthly average daily volume (ADV) for the second consecutive month,, trading 346,607 contracts per day, a 21% increase over the previous record.
