NYMEX Sets Daily Options Volume Records

NEW YORK, July 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., a subsidiary of NYMEX Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: NMX), announced that it set daily volume records for total NYMEX and COMEX options, NYMEX options, natural gas options, and European natural gas options contracts yesterday.

Total NYMEX and COMEX options reached 1,518,301 contracts, shattering the previous record of 541,969 contracts traded on May 15.

NYMEX options totaled 1,505,921 contracts, exceeding the previous record of 526,126 contracts traded on May 15.

Natural gas options traded 665,785 contracts, surpassing the 143,877 contracts traded on May 15.

European natural gas options reached 726,653 contracts, beating the previous record of 245,915 contracts traded on September 6, 2006.
