CBOT to Host Media Briefing Following March 30 USDA 2007 Crop Report
(Prospective Plantings) and World Agricultural
Supply & Demand Estimates

WHAT:            The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) invites media to attend a briefing/panel analysis to discuss the results of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Crop Production Report and World Agricultural Supply & Demand Estimates.

The panel will include:

  • Brian Basting, Commodity Research Analyst for Advance Trading
  • Jim Bower, Owner and President of Bower Trading, Inc.
  • Jerry Gidel, President of Midland Research, Inc.

Panelists may discuss the report’s impact on the potential volatility of corn, soybean and soybean product prices, the effect of future corn plantings and projected stocks of corn, wheat and soybeans, the planting of corn and the ethanol market, and the possible spillover effect on consumer prices.
