CBOT RINGS IN NEW YEAR WITH CONFETTI SHOWER
AS EXCHANGE SETS NEW ALL-TIME ANNUAL VOLUME RECORD

WHAT:         Shower of confetti at the closing bell.

Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) members will once again celebrate a record-setting year on the final day of trading for 2006. In 2006, the CBOT set an all-time volume record, as the total surpassed 801 million contracts traded.  The previous record, 674,651,393 contracts, was set in 2005.

The Exchange invites media to take photos as a shower of confetti falls at the closing bell on the Agricultural trading floor and CBOT floor traders celebrate the year’s end.
