Livestock futures saw significant downward pressure across the board as trade dynamics and shifting consumer demand weighed on the complex. Live Cattle futures trended lower following the opening of a Mexican cattle port, which markets anticipate could introduce 150,000 head of cattle before the end of the year. Feeder Cattle futures also fell heavily, trading outside their previous daily range as elevated beef prices drove consumers toward cheaper pork and chicken alternatives. Lean Hog futures continued their steep decline, with the December contract dropping below the $60 level to fresh contract lows as pork cutouts remained 30% below their summer peaks amid sluggish consumer demand.
