Gold futures start the week higher, climbing back above $4,000 after touching a three-month low on Friday. Improving Middle Eastern diplomacy and falling Treasury yields provide a near-term lift for prices, breaking a 15% slide since August. As the market rallies from recent lows, volatility eases in tandem. Meanwhile, speculators extend a trend dating back to mid-August of exiting net long positions.
