Gold futures saw a modest bounce to end the week, breaking a five-session slide, but remain under pressure from macroeconomic headwinds. The 10-Year Treasury yield hit its highest level since 2007, and the U.S. dollar climbed to near two-month highs, creating a challenging environment for precious metals. Stronger-than-expected economic data, including weekly jobless claims falling to 197,000, reinforces the narrative of persistent inflation and a tight labor market. Markets are currently pricing in a 66% probability of an October rate hike as Federal Reserve officials signal further tightening may be necessary before year-end.
