Live Cattle futures moved higher as tight supplies and robust demand supported the market. April Live Cattle futures rose 1.32 to settle at 238.72, holding near the top of a four-week trading channel. Feeder Cattle futures also showed strength with expectations of higher prices from feedlots providing market support; March Feeder Cattle futures gained 3.20 to finish at 365.20. Conversely, Lean Hog futures gapped lower during the session as market participants engaged in profit-taking following an overbought period. April Lean Hog futures declined 2.15 to 94.77, while the cash market trailed the futures movement. Volatility levels remained stable across the livestock complex with the lean hog CVOL at 19.7%.
