Natural Gas futures faced heavy selling pressure, dropping nearly 9% to four-month lows as the February contract approaches expiration. Warmer-than-expected weather forecasts across the lower 48 states and ample inventories weighed on the market. WTI Crude Oil futures also saw volatility, touching a four-month high near $62.40 before reversing gains to trade near the $60 level.
