Live Cattle futures and Feeder Cattle futures finished the week on a soft note, with February Live Cattle futures settling at 233.72, down $2.27 for the week. March Feeder Cattle futures also saw a Friday decline, dropping $3.02 to settle at 354.70, though they remained $1.75 higher on the week. Lean Hog futures saw April contracts leading weekly gains despite a slight Friday dip. In the cash market, wholesale box beef prices were softer, with choice cuts falling to 355.24. Daily slaughter totals reached 115,000 head, slightly trailing last year's pace. While volatility has trended lower since the end of last year, both Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle CVOL saw a slight uptick as the week closed.
