February Natural Gas futures pushed back toward recent lows, forming an outside range day as the market reacted to the latest storage data and shifting weather patterns. The weekly EIA report confirmed a draw of 119 billion cubic feet, bringing total supplies to 3,256 billion cubic feet. While current inventory levels are 123 billion cubic feet lower than last year, surpluses remain 31 billion cubic feet above the five-year average. Short-term demand is expected to remain light through Saturday due to warmer than normal temperatures across much of the U.S., though a cold weather system moving into the central and eastern regions by Sunday could provide a shift in demand heading into next week.
