Soybean futures moved lower as a record South American crop outlook and a 35% shortfall in China's purchase pledges weighed on the market. Corn futures also retreated, giving back recent gains to trade back within a two-month channel following reports of bumper crops in Brazil and Argentina. Wheat futures faced downward pressure from the broader grain complex despite geopolitical tensions in Russia and Ukraine, finishing the year down 18% overall.
