Cattle markets trended higher as February Live Cattle futures settled 1.10 higher at 229.65. Feeder Cattle futures gained 2.60 to settle at 340.42, marking a fifth consecutive week of gains. Lean Hog futures saw minor pressure with the February contract settling 0.52 lower at 84.52. Wholesale box beef prices were softer, with Choice cuts dropping 3.33 to 351.29. Traders are monitoring contracting volatility and light holiday trade volumes as the USDA prepares to release updated cash market summaries.
