Livestock markets traded higher, led by significant gains in January Feeder Cattle futures. February Live Cattle futures and April Lean Hog futures also finished in positive territory amid firm wholesale boxed beef prices. Cash trade remained steady with the five-area average price reported at $228.19, while daily slaughter numbers dipped to 110,000 head. Additionally, volatility scores declined, with the 14-day average true range for Live Cattle contracting to its narrowest level since October.
