Livestock markets ended the week on a mixed note. February Live Cattle futures settled lower at 229.55 but managed a weekly gain of 2.40, while January Feeder Cattle futures dropped 4.30 on the day to finish nearly flat for the week. In contrast, February Lean Hog futures gained 0.35 to close at 84.52, securing a third consecutive weekly advance. Wholesale Boxed Beef was mixed, with Choice cuts falling and Select cuts rising, while the 5-area average cash steer price held firm at 226.31. Additionally, volatility metrics compressed, with the Live Cattle CVOL index hitting its lowest level since early November.
