February Live Cattle futures staged a sharp rally, bouncing off November 25 lows in a V-bottom formation. The move was supported by strength in the cash market, where trade was reported $6 to $10 higher as packers secured inventory for the holiday season. Additionally, severe cold weather in the Midwest is creating production challenges, causing weight loss in animals and making transportation difficult. While supplies remain tight, the market is looking ahead to demand prospects for 2026.
