Gold futures surged following weak labor market data and rising expectations for a Federal Reserve rate cut in December. Interest in the precious metal was further supported by central bank purchases and a weaker dollar. Meanwhile, Copper futures jumped significantly due to supply tightness, while Silver futures moved higher in sympathy.
