Live Cattle futures finished higher, supported by a futures discount to cash markets and short covering ahead of the holidays. February Live Cattle rose 6.50 to 219.32, while December reached 217.30, with implied volatility at 23.3%. Feeder Cattle futures saw significant gains, trading limit up at one point as the lack of a reopening date for the Mexican border continues to lift the market. Futures have rallied nearly $25 in three sessions, with January rising 9.25 to 324.37. Lean Hog futures remained firm as bargain hunters entered an oversold market, helping prices hold Wednesday's surge and finish the week up $5.
