Live cattle and hog futures closed lower, with December live cattle breaking below the 100-day moving average and December lean hogs setting a new low for the move. CME's CVOL for live cattle and feeder cattle both rose significantly, while USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins provided an uncertain stance on reopening the Mexican border to cattle due to screwworm concerns, despite the administration's focus on doing so.
