Deferred Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures contracts posted new record highs today, driven by the market's expectation of robust holiday beef demand extending into the new year. Supplies remain a concern, with fewer animals on feed in 2025 and the border closure with Mexico impacting the ability to import feeder cattle. This may lead to smaller animal totals and weights, presenting a challenge for the market.
