Equity markets experienced profit-taking, with the S&P 500 futures, Nasdaq-100 futures, and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures all pulling back from recent highs. The moves were influenced by a government shutdown delaying economic reports, recent Fed minutes, and an FOMC member's comments on lower rates. Equity option data showed a rise in put volume and a significant concentration of put options in near-term open interest. In the cryptocurrency space, Bitcoin futures fell toward support at $120,000, and Micro Ether futures saw a high volume of 160,000 contracts on the day amid increased volatility.
