Grain futures saw mixed trading as the U.S. government shutdown suspended key USDA reports, including the October WASDE and weekly crop progress reports. Despite the data vacuum, analysts released estimates for U.S. corn and soybean yields, as well as ending stocks for corn, soybeans, and wheat. Weekly export inspections for all three grains were also noted to be within the expected range.
