Nasdaq, Russell 2000, Gold and Bitcoin futures reached record highs. Silver futures saw their highest level since May 2011. WTI Crude Oil futures were modestly higher after OPEC+ decided on a 137,000 barrel-per-day production increase for November. Meanwhile, Copper futures dropped 1.4%, and the dollar was slightly higher. Global political events also impacted markets, with a Japanese government shakeup driving down the yen and spiking long-term JGB yields by 17 basis points. In France, the prime minister's resignation caused the Euro to drop 0.7% and French 10-Year yields to jump 9 basis points. The U.S. government shutdown entered its sixth day with a key vote on an appropriations bill scheduled for later. Looking ahead, speeches are expected from the ECB and Bank of England governors, with key economic data including German industrial production, U.S. construction spending, and FOMC minutes due tomorrow. Earnings reports from Constellation Brands and McCormick are also on the horizon.
