A government funding lapse created a mixed day of trade in grain futures, with a freeze on the release of weekly export sales and the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimate (WASDE) report. With a halt on weekly government reports, traders and analysts will closely follow harvest reports from U.S. producers and weather developments in South America. The U.S. Treasury Secretary said the federal government has the American farmers' backs amid Chinese lack of purchases of U.S. soybeans, with more news on the matter expected to be announced on Tuesday.
