The U.S. government shutdown kicked in at midnight, lifting gold and nudging the S&P 500 down −0.25%. ADP missed (−32k vs +51k expected), pulling the 10-year yield to ~4.10% from 4.14% and boosting rate-cut expectations into year-end. If the BLS jobs report lands on Oct 3, it could be the next driver for stocks.
