U.S. stocks trade near flatline amid disappointing business climate data out of Germany and steady inflation data from Japan. Fed officials John Williams and Michael Bar are slated to speak today. This follows comments from Jerome Powell and Michelle Bowman, who offered differing views on the state of the labor market and a need for faster rate cuts. The price of crude oil futures gained for a second consecutive session. Gold futures were slightly higher while silver futures were slightly lower.
