October RBOB Gasoline futures rose for a third consecutive session, with prices gaining more than 4.5% since September 12th. The typically strong positive correlation between RBOB and WTI Crude Oil futures has broken down temporarily, sparking volatility. Refinery bottlenecks caused by unplanned outages have created supply tightness and pushed prices higher even as crude oil prices have fallen.
