Grain futures were mostly lower on Tuesday, with December Corn futures falling two cents to settle at 419.75, November Soybean futures losing 2.5 cents to end at 1031.25, and December Chicago Wheat futures dropping 3.5 cents to settle at 520.25. The latest weekly crop progress report showed a slight decline in good to excellent ratings for corn and soybeans, but both were still rated 1% better than expected. Corn is also ahead of the five-year harvest pace. In export news, corn inspections were slightly above the prior week's report and within expectations, while wheat inspections fell well below the previous week's strong report. More export data is expected Thursday, with the monthly WASDE report following on Friday.
