Livestock markets were mostly lower on Tuesday. October Live Cattle futures fell $5.62, settling at $23,017, and December Live Cattle futures dropped $6.40, settling at $23,117. Feeder Cattle futures also locked limit lower at $9.25 for the first eight contract months, while October Lean Hog futures were up $0.97, settling at $96.12. Outside markets are being closely watched ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting, with the CME FedWatch Tool indicating a 92% chance of a quarter point rate cut. In economic data, jobs were revised lower by 911,000, which was much larger than expected.
