The Japanese yen was the only major currency that was negative against the US Dollar by the end of the New York session. This occurred despite positive Japanese GDP data, as political uncertainty drove investors to safer assets like the euro and Swiss franc. The Bank of Japan's continued dovish stance also pressures the yen, as Japan maintains a wide interest rate differential with the U.S.
