December Corn futures settled modestly higher today after the European Union cut its crop estimate by 4% from last month's numbers. The news spurred on an outside reversal higher day. The U.S. has also seen weeks of strong export sales, with the latest weekly number at 2.072 million metric tons. New crop sales alone were nearly 2.1 million metric tons. With the new marketing year beginning on September 1st, sales are already at almost 26% of the USDA's full-year forecast.
