• Modification to Methodology for Determining Roll Date in CBOT Grain Futures Products

    • Effective immediately, CBOT is adopting a revision to the methodology for determining the roll date in all CBOT grain and oilseed futures products (Wheat, KC Wheat, Corn, Soybeans, Soybean Meal, Soybean Oil, Oats and Rough Rice). Beginning today, the designated lead contract month in each futures product will roll on the 12th business day of the calendar month that precedes the current lead month.   For example, the current lead contract month in Wheat futures is the March 2014 contract. The May 2014 contract month will become the lead month on February 19, 2014, which is the 12th business day of February.
       
      The table below identifies for each futures product the calendar month in which the change in the designated lead month will take place as of the 12th business day of the month and which contract month will become the new lead month contract as of that date.
