Elimination of References to NYMEX & COMEX Pit Committees

Effective immediately, NYMEX and COMEX have adopted amendments to various rules in Chapters 4 and 5 of the Rulebook eliminating references to the Pit Committee and replacing those references, where appropriate, with references to the Floor Conduct Committee or Exchange Officials. Given that NYMEX and COMEX do not maintain separate pit committees for each trading pit as is the practice at CME and CBOT, the responsibilities currently handled by pit committee members in Chicago are handled by the NYMEX & COMEX Floor Conduct Committee or Exchange Officials in New York.
