S&P Indices has recently concluded a review of their index data pricing and policies. There will be new policies and pricing that will take effect January 1st 2012. These include the implementation of an Annual License Fee for distribution of S&P Index data and a policy for use of S&P Index data within Widgets/Gadgets/Applications.
The Annual License Fee will be applicable to any customer Licensed for S&P data redistributing Real Time, Delayed or End of Day S&P Index values received from CME Group. This fee will be $4,200 per year for the right to redistribute the Base Package or the Complete Package. This fee is billed annually each January.
A new policy and annual fee will also be created for display of S&P data via a Widget/Gadget/Application type medium. This policy will target display within any embedded unique code that contains market data that may be displayed on a website, mobile device or desktop where the data is stored and controlled by the Distributor's group.
Additionally, S&P is making changes to the frequency in the dissemination of their index data. The Base Package will increase from updating every 15 seconds to updating every 5 seconds.
