    • The clearing house plans on making a change to all of the current Business Function Commodity Code (BFCC)

names that we have for Comex and Nymex products.  Currently all Comex products are preceded with “CMX-“

and Nymex products preceded with “NYM-“.  This system worked well as both exchanges only used 2 letter

codes to define products.  Now with the expansion of Nymex product listings we cannot continue this trend.

Due to a 6 digit limitation to BFCC names we will need to make a change.  Now all of the Comex products

will be started with “CX-“ and Nymex products will proceed with “NY-“.

These changes will be made for RTH June 25th.

For testing of these changes they will be in the testDev folder on the FTP site: ftp://ftp.cme.com/pub/span/data/cme/testDev/

If there are any questions about the change please contact the risk department at 312-648-3888.
