    • Pending regulatory approval, the Green Exchange Venture is proposing to launch as an independent exchange during the first quarter of 2010.  The new exchange will be called the Green Exchange.  Green Exchange products will trade via CME Globex and privately-negotiated transactions may be submitted for clearing through CME ClearPort.
       
      Currently, there are thirty NYMEX products which will be migrated as Green Exchange products using the same product codes when the Green Exchange is launched. In addition, when the Green Exchange is launched existing positions in clearing for these products will change from NYMEX to GEX, and member firms will need to make the corresponding adjustment in their bookkeeping systems. 
       
      The exchange acronym in FIXML and SPAN® messages and files will be GEX. The CFTC code for Green Exchange for Large Trader Reporting will be GE.
       
      Firms will have the opportunity to test Green Exchange products beginning Monday January 11th, 2010 in the New Release environment. 
       
      A suite of sample data files for the Green Exchange will be made available including trade confirmation messages, trade register data file, a settlement price file in both a fixed and FIXML format and a combined SPAN file. Information on these sample files will be provided in a subsequent advisory.
