    • Beginning with the February 2009 Live Cattle contract, the standard freight rate will increase from $3.25 a mile to $3.75.

The standard freight rate is used in carcass graded deliveries of Live Cattle to compensate the seller when the buyer requests delivery at a slaughter plant that is farther from the feed yard than the delivery point stockyard. In accordance with Live Cattle Rule 10103.C.8, this rate is set annually by the exchange.

In addition, a list of the approved live cattle stockyards and slaughter plants for 2009 is attached.
