Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. (“DO”) has announced a special cash dividend of $1.875 per DO Common Share. The record date is November 2, 2009; payable date is December 1, 2009. The ex-distribution date for this distribution will be October 29, 2009. Diamond Offshore has characterized this dividend as “special” and has distinguished it from the regular quarterly dividend payable on the same date.

This corporate event will be coordinated with the Options Clearing Corporation.
