Globex Customer Roles and Entitlements
Member firms have the ability to provide their employees access to various applications or to nominate them to complete specific CME Group-defined actions. Below you will find an overview of various permission levels and roles.
These roles are for individuals authorized to approve access to specific applications. These individuals do not enable access to our applications or platforms, but can enable access to select systems. Authorized Signers can also gain Administrator access.
- Entity Officer: This person is authorized to act on behalf of an entity and enter into a legal contract with CME Group, sign the Self-Service Agreement and appoint Self-Service Admin Managers.
- Clearing Firm Authorized Officer or Director: This role has sign-off authority from the Clearing Firm for Globex-related paperwork. The authorized list is not maintained or verified by CME Group.
- Clearing Firm Messaging Efficiency Program Contact: They are authorized to receive emailed Messaging Efficiency Program surcharge notifications for all Executing Firms who are cleared by the respective clearing firm.
- Clearing Firm Primary and Secondary Administrators: Can authorize addition/removal/modification for select Globex applications; is the main operational contact for the clearing firm in instances where the clearing firm has not signed the Self Service Agreement (SSA) and can contact the Global Command Center (GCC) to open/close ports.
- Clearing Firm Back Office Manager: Approves access to Member Firm Clearing System applications, which include Banking and Asset Management System (BAMS), Brokerage Payment System (BPS), Front-End Clearing (FEC+), Give-Up Payment System (GPS), Exchange Fee System (EFS) and Settlements.
- Verification Officer: Approves access to an application or system they are authorized for. Examples include CME Direct, ClearPort, Deal Management System, Trade Repositories or Microservices (Risk Monitor, Entity Risk Manager, Account Management Services).
These roles manage user access and requests, manage risk or update firm and user configurations within our systems.
- Admin Manager: Manages access for self and other users to a suite of applications via User Administration accessible from Customer Center.
- Application Administrator: This role enables administrative functions within specific, individual applications (rather than suites of applications), and with access scopes limited to individual legal entities or particular activities.
- Co-Location Firm Admin: Maintains user access to CoLo Portal, authorizes access to the CME Data Center and manages Co-Location requests with CME Group.
These roles enable trading, clearing or reporting functionality within our online systems. Users can have access that is restricted to view-only functionality or full access with edit/update functionality. Specific permissions vary by application and market.
The following roles are users who are permissioned to contact the GCC for support regarding production issues.
- Designated Person: Are authorized to request changes in credit limit, both intra-day and open-ended.
- Drop Copy Technical Contact: A registered individual authorized to contact the GCC to approve Drop Copy port re-openings.
- GCC Inbound Market Contact: A registered individual authorized to contact the GCC for order inquiry and/or cancellation.
- GCC Inbound Technical Contact: This registered individual is authorized to contact the GCC for order inquiry only.
- GCC Outbound Error Trade Contact: Person, phone number or e-mail address (individual or vanity) the GCC uses to notify an executing firm regarding an error trade.
- GCC Outbound iLink Session Technical Contact: Person, phone number or email address (individual or vanity) the GCC uses to notify an executing firm regarding technical issues, such as improper sequence numbering or runaway automated trading system (ATS).

Global Account Management
The GAM team manages customer access to all CME Group markets and services and serves as clients’ primary information source for electronic trading, technology enhancements and new offerings.
Global Command Center
The GCC oversees market operations and production support 24 hours a day, six days a week for Globex, BrokerTec, EBS and OTC venues, as well as supporting CME Direct, ClearPort, DataMine, Elysian and GFE platforms.

Certification Support for Electronic Trading (CSET)
CSET handles inquiries, issues and support requests from clients testing or certifying to the Globex and ClearPort services.
