CME STP and CME STP FIX

Balanced Strip Butterfly Spread Support in CME STP - July 28

Effective Sunday, July 28 (trade date Monday, July 29), the exchange-defined Balanced Strip Butterfly spread will be available for trading on CME Globex.

CME STP will support Trade Capture Reports (FIX: tag 35-MsgType=AE, FIXML: /TrdCptRpt) for these spreads with a new security sub type "BB" (FIX: tag 167-SecurityType=BB, FIXML: /TrdCaptRpt/Instrmt/@SubTyp=BB).

The spread is currently available for customer testing in New Release.

CME STP API on Google Cloud - July 28

CME Group is launching CME STP API services on Google Cloud. This API launch will happen in phases.

Effective Sunday, July 28 (trade date Monday, July 29) as part of phase 1, CME Group will make CME STP FIXML service available on Google Cloud and clients can target new service URL noted below.

Both service URLs will be available in parallel until close of business Friday, November 1. Effective Sunday, November 3 (trade date Monday, November 4)  current service URL will be decommissioned. During the parallel period, same trade data will be available on both services and clients should take steps to avoid double booking trades within their systems.

With this launch,

  • Clients can use their currently entitled API IDs to target new service URLs.
  • There are no changes to CME STP FIXML API message specifications.

The new service URL for the New Release is now available for customer testing.

Clients are highly encouraged to test their CME STP FIXML implementations against the New service URL.

Launch dates for CME STP FIX API will be announced in future CME STP Notices.

CME STP Field Impacts for Futures, Options and OTC IRS/FRA Trades - August 4

Effective Sunday, August 4 (trade date Monday, August 5), as part of the ongoing strategy to improve customer experience, CME Group is making updates to futures, options and OTC IRS/Forward Rate Agreement (FRA) trade messages in CME Straight Through Processing API (CME STP API).

These changes will be available for customer testing in New Release on Monday, July 8.

CME STP Migration for EBS Customers - December 31

Central Post Trade (CPT) TOF and CPT FIX will be decommissioned on December 31.

All EBS clients must migrate to CME STP solutions before the decommission. Both CME STP and CME STP FIX currently support EBS trades as well as BrokerTec on CME Globex, BrokerTec Stream, and CME Group futures and options.

Start planning your migration now to ensure no interruption of service, and continued access to new products and features which will only be supported in CME STP. 

To facilitate your migration, Message Specifications and CME STP FIX Data Dictionary are now available along with Migration Guides for CPT TOF and CPT FIX to CME STP.

CME STP for EBS FX Markets are currently available for customer testing in New Release. Functional certification is required.

Effective Sunday, July 28 (trade date Monday, July 29), CME STP Trade View will support exchange-defined Balanced Strip Butterfly spread on CME Globex.

The spread is currently available for customer testing in New Release.

CME STP BaCE API

UpdateDecommission of CME STP BaCE API  - September 27

Effective close of business Friday, September 27, CME Group will decommission CME STP BaCE API (bilateral and cleared-elsewhere). This is a CME Group API service that provides electronic access for submission of bilateral and cleared-elsewhere trades. Trades submitted on or before this date shall remain available on STP API for the standard period of 30 days.
