New – Two New Selection Options for Account Type

Effective Sunday, December 4 (trade date Monday, December 5), CME Account Manager will offer two additional Account Type selection options for submitting block trades and Exchange for Related Positions (EFRPs) on CME ClearPort registered accounts:

• Client Risk Master Account – Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) Brokers may submit Block trades and EFRPs for multiple clients using a single Client Risk Master Account for subsequent allocation or give-up.
• Short Code Account — Brokers may submit Block trades and EFRPs for trading firms not registered with CME ClearPort. A separate account must be created for each trading firm. Account Description must include the name of the actual end client trading firm.

Please Note: With the addition of these explicit check-box options, account type is no longer required in the description for these special accounts.

Holding Accounts will continue to be available for submission of swaps (for example, CDS or IRS). All options will be mutually exclusive.

This enhancement will be available for testing in the New Release environment on Wednesday, November 9.

New - Trading Sub Accounts for CME Direct Globex Accounts

Effective Sunday, December 4 (trade date Monday, December 5), two new types of trading sub accounts will be supported for CME Direct Globex accounts:

• Non-member Broker Intermediaries may be supported under a “parent” clearing account established by an exchange clearing member firm.

Note: Non-member broker intermediaries are parties, registered or exempt from registration, acting in a brokering capacity but who are not exchange members or member firms.

• Trading firms may establish trading sub accounts under their clearing member firm account and manage the risk at the sub account level.

A new trading firm entitlement, CME Globex Trader Risk Administrator, will support creation and management of the new trading sub accounts. The Clearing Member Risk Administrator will support creation and management of the clearing account.
