EBS Workstation Changes Required - May 29

Effective Friday, May 29, all EBS Workstation users must migrate to the new per-region cloud environment. This change will streamline operation, supportability and resilience of EBS Workstation.

Clients using managed leased lines to access EBS Workstation must make the following required changes by May 29:

  • Allow new listed 208.x subnets through firewalls (alongside existing subnets).
  • Download and install updated EBS Workstation.
    • The updated EBS Workstation is identical to the existing version except changes to access configuration.

As an alternative to making the required access changes, EBS Workstation is also available via WebConnect (internet connection). Clients on CME Full Service (physical EBS terminals) or WebConnect (internet connection) are not required to make any changes.

Expansion of EBS Direct Public IP Ranges - May 9

Effective Saturday, May 9, the public IP subnet ranges for EBS Direct relationship-based trading will be expanded to support continued growth and IP address availability for new customer connections. This change applies to all clients connecting via CME RNet in our New York, London and Tokyo regional hubs.

CME Group will advertise new, larger IP ranges in addition to the current ranges to ensure a seamless transition with no immediate impact on existing connectivity.

Required Actions

To ensure uninterrupted service and the ability to provision new credentials, CME RNet router configurations must be updated to accept the expanded ranges:

  • Network Teams: Update BGP import policies and firewall rules on all RNet-terminating equipment to permit the new /22 subnets detailed in the table below.
  • Application/Onboarding: Coordinate with your network team to confirm the BGP and firewall updates are complete before attempting to provision or activate any new FIX credentials.
  • Vendors/ISVs: Ensure your RNet infrastructure is prepared to route traffic for the expanded blocks to maintain service parity for your clients across all three global hubs.

Please use your CME Group login to view connectivity details in the EBS Direct Expansion of Public IP Ranges section of the Configuration and Connectivity Details page.

The existing, smaller subnets will be decommissioned at a future date, which will be announced in a subsequent notice.

Please contact Global Account Management for additional information.

For detailed RNet connectivity requirements, please refer to the CME RNet topic in the Client Systems Wiki.
