At-a-Glance

Today’s Top Highlights

Equity markets continued selling pressure today broadly with the S&P, Nasdaq, Russell and Dow all trading lower. The Russell led the selling pressure trading lower by about 1.5% while the other indices just saw marginal losses on the day. The Russell last week traded down below its 50-day moving average and re-tested those levels this week where prices were rejected and the continued selling followed. Along with that, the 10-year yield contract traded to its highest level since November of 2023, but still remains in neutral territory looking at the daily relative strength levels. PPI and CPI will be released over the next 2 days that could add more volatility to wrap up the week.

Neither futures trading nor swaps trading are suitable for all investors, and each involves the risk of loss. Due to the leveraged nature of futures trading and swaps trading, it is possible to lose more than the amount deposited in a position. Therefore, traders should not deposit more funds than they can afford to lose without negatively affecting their lifestyles. A trader cannot expect to profit on each trade, and should only devote a small amount of their available funds to each trade. All references to options refer to options on futures.
