Registering for Commodity Direct spot crude markets

A Verification Officer for the firm requesting access must complete and submit the registration information to receive access to the Commodity Direct platform.  

The Verification Officer is the primary point of contact for accessing the Commodity Direct platform, and has the authority to request additional users, request the deletion of a user and/or request user permissions on the platform. 

All identified users, including the Verification Officer, must have an active CME Group Login ID.

New firm and user registration

Follow these steps to register new firms and users for the Commodity Direct platform for spot crude markets:

Confirm CME Group Login IDs

Ensure that all Verification Officers (VO) and prospective platform users have active CME Group Login IDs. Use the link below to register for a login ID if needed.

CME Group Login is a self-managed, centralized user profile service that authenticates access to applications and services.

VO completes Commodity Direct registrations


The Verification Officer must complete the CME Commodity Direct Platform – Spot Crude Markets registration form, which requires acknowledgement of policies, identifying users and their roles and providing optional STP API information. 

As the Commodity Direct platform can be accessed via CME Direct, the registration form also provides an option to register for CME Direct.

Registration processing

After clicking the Submit button at the bottom of the registration form, your request will be routed to our onboarding team for processing.

Upon receipt and validation, we will onboard your firm as well as its Verification Officers and users. You will receive notification via email upon completion.

Additional user registration

This process is for firms already registered with the Commodity Direct Platform – Spot Crude Markets that wish to add additional users. The process must be completed by a Verification Officer.

CME Group Login created for user

If not already established, each new user must create and activate a CME Group Login ID and provide the Verification Officer with their newly created CME Group Login IDs.

Verification Officer fills out form

A Verification Officer must complete the Commodity Direct Additional User Form.

Registration processing
