API Development Requirements and Assistance

Overview

To support customer and channel partner testing and development for new and existing Globex functionality, we provide two test environments: Certification and New Release. The testing environments and AutoCert+ support development and certification for: iLink, MDP 3.0, Drop Copy, STP and others as needed.

  • The Certification environment matches production and is used for testing existing products and functionality.
  • The New Release environment is used for testing new products and functionality prior to production launch.
  • AutoCert+, the automated CME Group API certification tool, ensures all trading applications conform to CME Group API specifications and adhere to our requirements.

Development Requirements

Every program certified to interact with Globex must be designed and developed to properly receive and display all critical information about the market, particularly if a specific product or the entire market is halted during regular market hours. Each program must also handle connectivity to Globex and manage trading sessions in the protocols provided.

Requirements include
  • Proper log on, message sequencing and weekly resets
  • The graceful handling of disconnects and reconnects
  • Not adversely impacting themselves or other customers
  • Not adversely impacting Globex electronic markets at large
  • Support features and functionality critical to listed derivatives, BrokerTec and EBS markets
  • Accommodate new products and new initiatives developed by CME Group
  • Quickly and easily adapt to any configuration changes without the need to make software changes, such as changes in trading hours, matching algorithms or market depth

Development Assistance

You can develop and certify trading and market data applications for Globex. To assist and support your efforts, we provide two Globex testing environments:

  • Certification supports testing current products, messaging and functionality.
  • New Release supports new product, messaging and functionality prior to production launch.

This automated Globex certification tool ensures that all trading applications conform to Globex specifications and adhere to CME Group requirements.

This customer self-service tool is used for session management, company profile and user management and self-service injector requests.
